The sport’s biggest stars will be joined by an array of movie stars, standout athletes, and TV celebrities as Fighters Only—the leading publication for all things MMA—tallies the hundreds of thousands of votes from fight fans across the globe. With 2015 being packed with more highlight-reel action than ever before, many of the categories have come down to the wire—making Friday night’s ceremony even more exciting.
This year, silver statues across 22 categories—including “Fight of the Year,” “Knockout of the Year,” and “Submission of the Year”—will be presented. One individual’s outstanding contribution to MMA will also be recognized with the annual Lifetime Achievement award.
Current UFC featherweight champion and sporting phenomenon Conor McGregor (nominated in three categories) will be in attendance, along with women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm (nominated for four awards), who famously knocked out Ronda Rousey in November.
The Eighth Annual Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts Awards will be hosted by former WEC champion Urijah Faber and actress Alison Haislip, and will be shown on tape delay on Fox Sports 2 on February 12. Tickets are still available from the Venetian box office, or you can follow the winners’ announcements by visiting fightersonlymag.com.
